My Very First Blog EVER

Good afternoon all, I thought I'd enter the world of blogging by joining the debate about the London Olympics and more specifically their impacts on my local area of Hackney, and more generally about London. There was a meeting this week to talk about the progress of the Games and the effects on our area, but unfortunately I was unable to attend. Did anyone out there go, and if so what are the basic messages? Would be very interested to hear what other people think about the Olympics, house prices, and whether life will be worth living in London once the Games begin! Can't begin to imagine how we'll physically get around on public transport and can't honestly see that major changes are being made, or at least enough to enable the presumably thousands of extra people we'll see in 2012. Looking forward to any comments you all would make, and maybe from others whose cities have hosted Olympics and how it was before, during and after. We hear lots of rumours here about what it's like, better to hear it from the horse's mouth, or whatever that expression is!
